Every Detroiter deserves the opportunity to remain safely in the place they call home.

That's why we bring together neighbors, contractors, businesses, churches, and donors to make essential home repairs possible.

One repair creates a ripple that reaches far beyond one home.

A repaired home creates housing stability. Housing stability strengthens families. Strong families strengthen neighborhoods. Strong neighborhoods strengthen Detroit.

→ Detroit's homes are aging. 80% of Detroit homes are over 50 years old.

→ Critical repairs cost more than many families can afford.

That's where we step in.

We make essential repairs possible.

We focus on practical, high-impact repairs that improve safety, stability, and quality of life.

Examples:

  • Roof leaks

  • Broken furnaces

  • Unsafe stairs

  • Accessibility improvements

  • Plumbing

  • Electrical hazards

  • Doors & windows

  • Other critical safety repairs

FOUNDER

Neal Williams is a lifelong Detroiter whose commitment to his city has always been measured not by words, but by action. Throughout his life, he has invested in Detroit's neighborhoods and the people who call them home, believing that strong communities are built through service, trust, and genuine human connection. From the Heart Foundation of Detroit is a natural extension of that lifelong commitment—a reflection of his belief that every neighbor deserves to feel valued, supported, and connected to the community they call home.
